Veritas Classic TOGA TROT
Saturday, NOVEMBER 5, 2011 @ 8AM (registration begins at 7AM)
Journey through historic downtown Texarkana on a certified 5K or 10K course.
Veritas Academy, a K-12 Classical Christian school, hosts the Veritas Classic Toga Trot 5K and 10K through and around the historic buildings of downtown Texarkana, USA (both Texas and Arkansas) in classic Roman dress. The course is a certified pavement/roadway course that is fairly flat with some slight elevation changes. Historic sites include, but are not limited to, Perot Theatre, post office, Garrison-McLaine House, Wadley House, Ace of Clubs, Grim Hotel, Regional Arts building and, the up and coming, Silvermoon on Broad.
The race will begin and end at the family-friendly Kidtopia park, providing a delightful place for fans to congregate. Entertainment and fun will be had by all. The 5K and 10K categories will award Top Three Overall and 1st place in age groups. Prizes will also be given for BEST DRESSED. RACE DAY Entry Fees are $20 for 5K, $25 for 5K (no toga), $30 for XK and $35 for XK (no toga). You are promised an event t-shirt and may receive $5 off your registration if registered by Oct 25th.Togas may be purchased on race day for $10 (or $8 if purchased before Oct 25th).
