Grammar Curriculum

KINDERGARTEN: foundational spelling/writing/reading instruction through explicit phonics program; basic math facts (addition, etc.) and math properties (patterns, graphing, etc.); science exploration; cursive handwriting; world/American history; Bible stories, hymns/psalms, basic doctrine; integrated art projects; PE skills/games; integrated music

FIRST GRADE: Phonics training/literature reading, math problem solving/properties, integrated (with reading, math, art) science; spelling rules and word analysis; parts of speech; Arkansas and Texas history/culture; Bible reading/memorizations; integrated art; PE skills/games; thematic music

SECOND GRADE: Guided independent reading of books, math properties/problem solving, science, spelling rules, etc., cursive handwriting, basic English grammar, Ancient Egypt, Genesis-Joshua, integrated art projects, PE skills/games, thematic music

THIRD GRADE: Group and independent reading of great books, math skills/problem solving/integrated, astronomy, spelling rules and practice, cursive/essay practice, English grammar, Latin A, Ancient Greece/Rome, Judges-Kings, integrated art projects, PE skills/games, musical instrument (recorder)

FOURTH GRADE: Group and independent reading of great books (integrated with history, science), math skills/problem solving/integrated, botany, spelling rules and practice, writing assignments, English grammar (integrate with Latin), Latin B, Middle Ages/Renaissance/Reformation, Chronicles-Malachi, integrated art projects, PE skills/games, recorder

FIFTH GRADE: Group and independent reading of great books (integrated with history, science), math skills/problem solving/integrated, Zoology I, spelling rules and practice, writing assignments, English grammar (integrate with Latin), Latin C (grammar/translation), Explorers to 1815, Gospel series I, integrated art projects, PE skills/games, music history/appreciation

SIXTH GRADE: Group and independent reading of great books (integrated with history, science, Bible), math skills/problem solving/integrated, Zoology II, spelling rules and practice, writing assignments, English grammar (integrate with Latin), Latin D (grammar/translation), 1815-Present, Gospel series II, integrated art projects, PE skills/games, music history/appreciation
